13th June 2020           COVID-19 UPDATE

Blackstone Optometrists are now able to deliver private eye care, including private Eye examinations and Contact lens appointments, as well as Vision Therapy appointments.

At the time of writing, it has not yet been determined by the NHS when NHS services will resume.

Non-essential retail is also open from 15th June in England. As such, we are able to fully offer the supply of spectacles and contact lenses to our patients.

We have carried out a full risk assessment in the practice, and we comply with our obligations under the Standards of Practice and Standards for Optical Businesses in relation to infection control and patient safety. We have ensured appropriate screening checks and all applicable infection prevention and control measures are in place, including but not limited to cleaning and decontamination, social distancing and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) where deemed necessary.

Our opening hours will still be variable as we move towards full provision of services, and  appointments will be required for all Optometrist examinations, as well as Spectacle and Contact lens collections. Please contact us by email at reception@blackstone.co.uk, or you can telephone on (01494) 673782 and we will either answer your call, or if not available then please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as practically possible.

For the moment, Teresa, Nikki and myself will be the only regular staff members currently working at the practice, but we hope to see all other members of staff returning in the near future.

Once again, thank you for your support in these extremely difficult times for all of us, and we look forward to seeing you all again at Blackstone Optometrists.
