Our Equipment

We use some of the latest equipment, including:

Topcon 3D OCT 2000

Topcon 3D OCT 2000

This state of the art Optical Coherence Tomographer allows for viewing of the internal and external structures of the eye, allowing for an even better and more accurate Eye examination. The Topcon 3D OCT-2000 also incorporates a high resolution Colour Retinal Fundus camera. This simple solution allows pin point registration between the two forms of diagnostic imagery.

Intuitive Colorimeter - Migraines and Dyslexia

Intuitive Colorimeter - Migraines and Dyslexia

This useful instrument provides specific results for coloured lenses with or without prescription. Coloured lenses assist many Dyslexic people to read much more quickly and accurately. Sometimes they provide a necessary "kick-start" to speedier and more accurate reading.

These lenses can sometimes eliminate migraine attacks.

Visioffice

Visioffice

We have made a major investment in the Visioffice Eyecode measuring system. This is the first all-encompassing dynamic 3D measuring system that lets us obtain – with extreme accuracy – every possible parameter required for today's lenses.

Eyecode is a stunning breakthrough. Using Visioffice technology we can determine the precise position of each eye's rotation centre ( ERC) through which all gaze direction pass. This heralds a new era in lens personalisation. The result – truly bespoke single vision and Varilux lenses. Remember, only Essilor and Visioffice cutting edge technology in the practice can feature ERC measurements in the design of your lenses.

HTS

HTS

A computerised investigation and Home Training System, designed to improve children's and adults' eye muscle co-ordination. This computer programme trains you in new visual habits, improving visual performance and achieving much more effective comfortable vision, with less tiredness and headaches.

Dicon 5000 Autoperimeter

Dicon 5000 Autoperimeter

The Dicon Perimeter measures the general field of view in a fully comprehensive examination. We incorporate perimetry into  our eye examinations of anyone aged 16+ when this is necessary, and is also used for DVLA licence examinations.

Humphrey FDT

Humphrey FDT

The Humphrey FDT Perimeter uses Frequency Doubling Technology to provide a clinically verified, fast and affordable means of detecting early visual field loss. The FDT is the ideal visual field screening device because it conducts supra-threshold testing in only 40 seconds per eye. We carry out this test on all patients over 19 years of age, and youger if clinically necessary.

Rodenstock Phoromat

Rodenstock Phoromat

Holds and changes all the lenses used to test your eyes to find your prescription. It is also used for some Visual Therapy investigative techniques.

Icare Tonometer

Icare Tonometer

High pressure is often a symptom of a glaucoma. The measurement is barely noticed by the patient and often does not even cause corneal reflex.

Scanoscope Retinal Camera

Scanoscope Retinal Camera

The retinal camera delivers real-time images of the back and front of the eye. The results are immediately ready for reference.

This innovative imaging technique enables the Optometrist to evaluate retinal disease by visualizing the retina in high contrast and good resolution.

Rodenstock Slit Lamp

Rodenstock Slit Lamp

This instrument allows us to examine the front of the eye, including the Cornea and Conjunctiva, and also helps us with our our Contact lens patients. It is connected to a Digital camera and a computer to store the pictures.

Scout Topographer

Scout Topographer

Scout Topographer is an instrument that enables us to measure the contours and shape of the cornea.

The images viewed are electronically photographed to produce an extremely detailed contour corneal map.

Visagraph

Visagraph

Overview

An eye-movement recording system that measures the efficiency of the Fundamental Reading Process of students: Visual/functional proficiency, Perceptual development, Information processing competence.

What is the Visagraph used for?

Assess tracking and reading fluency efficiency.

Prescribe and evaluate corrective instruction in the form of visual discrimination and reading fluency training.

Detect visual/functional difficulties.

How it works

The Visagraph samples eye-movement positions. It does this 60 times per second and automatically computes various reading performance measures. Following this reading, a comprehension check determines whether or not the subject reads with reasonable comprehension.
