  Scanoscope
Retinal Camera

The Scanoscope delivers real-time images of the back of the eye. The results are immediately ready for reference.

This innovative imaging technique enables Michael Blackstone to evaluate retinal disease by visualizing the retina in high contrast and good resolution.

This is the equipment which is used to retrieve images of the back and front of the eye

  Automatic Refractor

Holds and changes all the lenses used to test your eyes to find your prescription. It is also used for some Visual Therapy investigative techniquesî.

  Intuitive Colorimeter
Migraines and Dyslexia

This useful instrument provides specific results for coloured lenses with or without prescription. Coloured lenses assist many Dyslexic people to read much more quickly and accurately. Sometimes they provide a necessary "kick-start" to speedier and more accurate reading. These lenses sometimes eliminate migraine attacks.

  Visagraph

Overview:

An eye-movement recording system that measures the efficiency of the Fundamental Reading Process of students: Visual/functional proficiency, Perceptual development, Information  processing competence.

The Visagraph can be used to:

Assess reading fluency efficiency

Prescribe and evaluate corrective instruction in the form of visual discrimination and reading fluency training

Detect visual/functional difficulties

How it works:

A student or trainee slips on goggles and they are adjusted to his/her inter-pupillary distance. The Visagraph requires no calibration or adjustment. An "easy to read" reading selection (level suggested by TA's CPA) in the Test Booklet is then read silently. During the reading/recording, the Visagraph samples eye-movement positions 60 times per second and automatically computes various reading performance measures. Following this reading, a comprehension check determines whether or not the subject read with reasonable comprehension that suggests a usual reading performance.

  Vision Therapy and Dyslexia

Do you like reading , or do you or your child find it tiring or difficult? If you or your child, over 7, has difficulty reading; arrange a more detailed confidential eye examination to find out if help can be obtained from special eye exercises and co-ordination exercises. You may be pleasantly surprised!

  Home Therapy
System (HTS)

A computerised investigation and Home Training System, designed to improve children's' and adults' eye muscle co-ordination. This computer programme trains you in new visual habits. It assits improving visual performance and achieving much more effective comfortable vision, with less tiredness and headaches.

  Pulsair 3000
Eye Pressure

High pressure is often a symptom of a glaucoma. The Pulsair 3000 is the latest in a line of non-contact eye pressure measuring instruments. It is speedier than most instruments, with a soft comfortable puff.

Dicon Perimeter Field of view measurement

The new Dicon Perimeter is easy to use, comfortable, friendly, speedier, and more responsive to you. From time to time we incorporate perimetry into our eye examinations and can include DVLA examinations.

  Scout Topographer

Scout Topographer, is an instrument that enables us to measure the curves and shapes of the cornea.
The cornea reflects concentric circles projected on to the cornea; the images viewed are electronically photographed to produce a computerised contour corneal map.

  Ipseo Lenses

Ipseo Lenses - the individually designed lens / Essilor's VisionPrint System is a computer driven diagnostic device used to measure a patient's natural head and eye movements.
The two recorded parameters are - head/eye movement ratio and stability coefficient. From these results we can fit you with the very latest comfortable multifocal spectacle lenses designed specifically for you.

  Intermittent Photopic Stimulation (IPS)

A system sometimes used to stimulate the main focusing area of the eyes. IPS can only be used where there has been no trauma and the patient has had some reasonable vision before.
