Michael Blackstone FCOptom.
Behavioural Optometrist, Contact Lens practitioner

Michael has been involved with contact lenses for many years and attended by invitation the first ever International Conference on soft contact lenses in Prague in 1966. He has guest lectured on contact lenses, written many papers and assisted in the writing of a book on the history of contact lenses and another on the 'Miles-Irlen Syndrome' (coloured lenses).
Michael has a strong interest in new techniques and lenses, particularly for those of us who have reading difficulties including dyslexics e.g. specialized eye exercises and the use of specially coloured lenses. He's also been known to enjoy the occasional round of golf...

Andrea Branscombe BSc. MCOptom. Optometrist

Andrea has been with the practice for many years. She enjoys all work, especially with children which is inspiring her to proceed with Vision Therapy. She lives locally with her husband and two daughters and enjoys music and dancing.

 

Zahra Husain BSc. MCOptom. Optometrist

Zahra qualified as an Optometrist in 1995 and enjoys all aspects of her work, especially contact lens fitting. She lives locally with her husband and two daughters. Her hobbies include cooking and cycling.

 

Christine Wilson, Practice Manager

Christine has been with the practice for over 15 years. She's constantly looking for new ideas to improve the quality and range of our service to our patients. She formally worked in the eye department at the Chiltern Hospital and has a wide knowledge of all aspects of professional practice, including dispensing and the supervision of Vision Therapy Exercises.

Anne Larbalestier F.B.D.O. Dispensing Optician

Anne is from a family of Opticians originally from Jersey. She has a house in France which she and her husband are renovating. Enjoys cooking, reading and needlework.

 

Lisa Killick F.B.D.O. Dispensing Optician

Lisa has many interests including horse riding and music but most important are her husband and three daughters', Grace, Ruby and baby Lois.

Mary Plester C.of Ed. Vision Therapy

Mary joined us about 3 years ago. She has taught full and part time in Primary schools in Bucks and Hillingdon. She enjoys reading, sewing, playing golf and skiing with her husband and daughter.

 

Myra Salias Optical Assistant

Myra spent most of her career in HR in London. She left to bring up her son who is now at Southampton University. Is rapidly developing her knowledge of contact lenses. She has completed her 'Optical Assistance Receptionist Course part II'.

 

Margaret Rogers, Optical Assistant

Margaret has a B.A. - Open University. She's interested in boating and is Secretary to Harleyford Motor Yacht Club. Responsible for all accounts and involved in general reception duties including contact lens handling.
She has completed her 'Optical Assistance Receptionist Course part II'.

 

Barbara Donovan, Optical Assistant

Barbara has previously worked as a Learning Support Assistant for Buckinghamshire County Council. She has completed her 'Optical Assistance Receptionist Course part II' and with her ongoing contact lens knowledge teaches contact lens handling.
