Michael Blackstone Optometrists is a well established, Independent practice in Beaconsfield, having been part of the community for over 20 years. Recently taken over by Jonathan Nesbitt, an Optometrist with over 20 years experience, it continues in that same tradition of first-class service with the latest products and treatments.
We continually invest in new technology, such as the Visioffice to assist our Dispensing Opticians in providing more accurate, up-to-date Spectacle lenses, and now the Topcon 3D 2000 OCT, which will continue our tradition of offering the best in quality eyecare, by creating the most detailed images of the eye for investigation.
It is a modern practice, with Michael and Jonathan taking a keen interest in up-to-date contact lens development. Michael has been a pioneer of soft lenses in the UK and a former MD of a substantial group of opticians.
Michael decided to open a 'community practice' offering a personalised and friendly service, with the freedom to supply the latest and best optical products to his patients. Our staff are committed to the ideals of the business and we pride ourselves on offering a dedicated service to our patients.
We are recognised as a contact lens 'Centre of Excellence' and as such,
are one of only a few in the country, often chosen to trial the most
technologically advanced lenses. Spectacle and contact lenses are
available to a very wide range of prescriptions suitable for all ages.
The practice also has an extensive range of fashion frames.
Another of our specialist services is 'Vision Therapy'. Michael's
son has dyslexia, yet has achieved university degrees and the practice
has a keen interest in helping people who have 'Specific Learning
Difficulties'.
One of only 45 accredited Behavioral Optometrists in the UK, in 2008
a specialist suite was established above the practice. We train
individuals to help them understand and overcome specific motor visual
problems such as tracking and fixating. Many SLD patients have found a
considerable improvement in reading, spelling and comprehension.
Our Mission Statement is: "To enable our patients to live their lives to the best of their ability through their eyes".
